This summerhouse replaces an old existing cabin by the waterfront on Stoltangen, Ullerøy. The client wanted to expand the outdoor area facing south and at the same time create an indoor area that was connected to the view with room for all their friends around the dinner table. The concept is based on the idea to push the program towards the slope in the north part of the site and create a outdoor area surrounded by a c-shaped building structure creating a private sunny space with shelter from the wind. This wooden structure on the main floor is resting on top of a small basement that consist of storage, technical room and laundry. In addition to the program on the main floor there is a small annex placed to the south east to provide the opportunity to withdraw from the others when needed. The exterior cladding in Canadian Cedar turns silver grey and perfectly slides into the surroundings.
