This is a single-family house located in Saltnes, Råde. The concept is based on the idea to use the topography of the site to solve the program logically in order to reach the beautiful view towards the Oslo fjord. The building consists of a concrete base partly hidden in the small crag with a dark wooden box floating on top of it.
The ground floor contains the main entrance and functions such as garage, technical room, storage, bathroom and children´s bedrooms connected to the large hall.
The upper floor is dedicated to the view with the main living room, kitchen and dining area and the large outdoor terrace facing south. The central concrete wall holds the staircase and is washed by the natural daylight that enters through the huge glass facade on three sides of the house. The master bedroom with its private bathroom is placed towards north.
